Alongside my fellow colleagues from CiSA, I attended an annual General Meeting of the United Nations Association in Canada of Greater Montreal at Marianopolis College.

It was a captivating conference with three panelists, one of whom is Professor Marcello Scarone, a man with an eclectic range of interests including, but not limited to: international relations, economics, sociology, and international law. I took two of his classes during my first semester in CEGEP: Introduction to Economics & Methodology in Research Methods.

Topics that were discussed during the conference included: the conflict in Afghanistan, the American intervention in said conflict, the de-facto Taliban government in the region, and the growing uncertainty regarding the UN's role on the international stage. We were presented with multiple opportunities for our futures (especially internships), and after that, we were given time to mingle amongst each other and to do some cocktailing.

Seeing that the cocktails we were promised were nowhere to be found, a large part of us decided to make up for this by going to a restaurant. We ended up all sharing a meal and drinks at Wienstein & Gavino's on Crescent Street, in Downtown Montreal.

It was a great night filled with amazing discussions and insight. Below, you will find a slideshow with pictures of the evening.
